Types of Wind Turbines 
There are many types of wind turbines but most commonly used wind turbines are horizontal and vertical wind turbines. The purpose of the wind generators is to convert the kinetic energy of the wind into usable electricity. These turbines are often implanted in wind farms to generate large amount of electricity. The basic structure of modern wind mills is same but they constitute many different components like pitch, rotor, blade, gear box, pod, and generator, high and low speed shafts, yaw drive and yaw motor, tower, controller, wind vane, nacelle and brake. The horizontal axis wind turbines contain a generator, rotor shaft along with a gear box. The gear box converts the slow rotation of the blades into quick and efficient rotation again. The vertical axis wind turbines on the other have rotor which is placed vertically. The vertical axis wind turbines are used in areas where the direction of wind is highly variable. The structure of vertical axis wind turbines makes them simple to use because they do not need be adjusted again and again. These renewable energy source is completely safe and environment friendly.

Cost of Wind Turbines & advantages of wind turbines
The cost of deploying wind turbines is dependent upon many factors. The main factors may include initial financing, type of wind turbine, installation and maintenance charges, location of the project and the brand which is being used. Users who are currently using the wind power turbines for years are enjoying the benefits because now they say that the cost of electricity produced by wind turbines is equal to traditional methods. However the use of these wind turbines is environment friendly and safe for human health. No reason how useful these wind turbines are they are still an expensive project. This is the reason why most of the underdeveloped countries are not still utilizing this alternative energy source. The cost of deploying wind generators also vary with per mega watt generation of electricity. The wind turbine which generates approximately 100KW electric power cost almost $ 3000 to $6000.that means a 10KW energy machine costs $15,000 to $25,000. governments are capable to overlook the cost of these wind turbines by looking at the ability of these wind mills. The most obvious reason of using wind mills for producing mechanical and electrical energy is their security and safety to use.
